USCIS Extends March 30th Order to Allow More Time to Respond to Certain Requests and Evidence

USCIS announced today that they will extend the time to respond to certain requests and notices from 15 or 30 days to 60 days due to the #Coronavirus.


What documents does this apply to?

This announcement applies to applicants and petitioners who are responding to any of the following:

  • Requests for Evidence;

  • Continuations to Request Evidence (N-14);

  • Notices of Intent to Deny;

  • Notices of Intent to Revoke;

  • Notice of Intent to Rescind and Notices of Intent to Terminate regional investment centers, and;

  • Filing date requirements for Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion


What time period does this apply to?

Any of the above documents that were issued from March 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020.


When is my response due?

You must submit your response within 60 days from the date that your response was initially due, which can be found on the request or notice that you are responding to. If you are filing a Form I-290B, you now have 60 days from the date of the decision to file your appeal or motion.


Helpful Tip!

Remember that USCIS must RECEIVE your response within 60 days. If you mail it before 60 days, but it is received after 60 days, it will NOT be considered timely.
